Digital Marketing Strategist

Job Overview

The role of the digital marketing strategist is to participate in the planning of business marketing strategy based on solid insights. Working collaboratively with the analytics, media, creative and account teams, this specialist focuses on a data-first approach to strategic digital marketing planning and execution. 

Responsibilities and Duties

The digital strategist’s responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to

  • Digital marketing strategy, owning the recommendations and development of select campaigns for a various industry of clients (telecom, fintech, ecommerce)
  • Conduct research and develop insights including market, business, competitor, customer and others to inform strategies
  • Thought leadership and competitive intelligence, staying current based on clients and mediums we work with
  • Develop thorough proposal recommendations and present them to decision makers
  • Creative brief development (alongside account team) to provide insights and direction on creative executions
  • Study and report performance (alongside strategic analyst) based on past and current executions – recommend optimizations to improve where necessary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher 
  • 5+ years of agency experience in strategic digital marketing and client pitching, generating comprehensive digital marketing communication plans
  • Initiated, managed and led the formation of deliverables such as: customer journeys, messaging architecture and touch-point plans in a strategic and tactical way
  • Strong knowledge of current digital marketing landscape, platforms/media channels, tactics, technologies and best practices (social, display, email, web)
  • Ability to research and review vast amounts of qualitative and quantitative industry- or category-specific research, synthesize and draw relevant conclusions and insights
  • Strong proficiency in building presentations (Google slides) and telling a clear story in an exciting way for face-to-face client communications
  • Ability to work well in small teams alongside creatives and account managers
  • Exceptional project management and organizational abilities
  • A natural leader with excellent relationship management and problem solving skills
